RAVE-O
RAVE-O (Retrieval, Automaticity, Vocabulary, Engagement with Language, Orthography) unites the most up-to-date research on phonological processes (word sounds), decoding, vocabulary acquisition, and word retrieval. Improving each of these reading “subprocesses”--the multiple, usually unconscious steps that must blend for successful reading--makes word recognition and learning automatic, efficient, and enjoyable for children who struggle with these basic skills.
